Sower Director Wins SAP Innovation Prize

August 21, 2009. Waltham, MA.

Sower’s Technical Director has received the major prize for winning a global innovation challenge. The $USD10,000 Social Networking challenge was posted by German software giant SAP through Innocentive.com. Over 1,200 solvers from around the world registered and 3 prizes were awarded.

The challenge, titled “Social networking for Enterprise Applications”, required solvers to explore novel uses of Social Networking capabilities in business applications in ways that benefit SAP’s enterprise customers and end users. The three winners, published on the Innocentive site on August 21, were Peter Chapman (Sower Australia), Teresa Aldape (UANL MBA School) and Eelco Nicodem (Ericsson).

“I am delighted that my submission caught the attention of the judges,” said Chapman. “I put a lot of thought into designing a social networking platform that could transcend the different technologies in the SAP ecosystem, and am genuinely excited about the result. If it was ever implemented it would completely change the way people interact with their business systems and work colleagues.”
